Opening Times
Changes to LRC Opening Hours from Monday 5th March:

(closed for ½ hour before the school lunch time i.e. 1pm-1.30pm)
All students have access to the LRC during break and lunchtimes, when they can also access our IT facilities. Post sixteen students are able to use the LRC during their study periods throughout the day. Students in Years 9, 10 and 11, can also use the LRC during lesson time provided you have written permission from their subject teacher.
Resources
To borrow:
We have a large range of fiction books covering all genres, a growing selection of graphic novels, two spinners where you will find a selection of quicker reads and a selection of audio books on CD . Our comprehensive non fiction collection supports all curriculum subjects and also provides a whole range of general interest resources.
For reference:
Daily newspapers: The Times, The I and Daily Echo.
Other Resources: We have 13 desktop computers and 16 laptops available for use in the LRC. There is a 'Follow Me' printer which can also photocopy and scan.
The Reading Challenge
Gold (15 house points) Silver (10 house points) Bronze (5 house points)
Various challenges at each level including reading a classic novel, a parent's favourite childhood book, a book recommended to you, an ebook and many more. Pick up a leaflet from the LRC. House points are also awarded for each book you read from the LRC; if you select one by the current Author of the Month, LRC Top 20, QE Reading list you will receive double house points (10).
