School Closure Update Tuesday 24th March 2020

Our Ref: KEB/jd

24th March 2020

Dear Parents and Carers

Temporary School Closure

I write to you following the government's announcement that schools have been closed to increase social distancing, which means minimising the number of people who are in close proximity to each other.

From Monday, parents and carers were asked to only send their child to school if their work was critical to our COVID-19 response and there was no one at home to look after them.

The first and overriding principle is for everyone to stay at home if at all possible. Thank you for taking this advice seriously and supporting the school in this.

Queen Elizabeth’s School currently has a very small number of pupils wishing to attend this week, therefore we have taken the decision to temporarily close the school from Wednesday 25th March and move the children to join other Wimborne Academy Trust Schools. We have already made contact with parents of the children who will be moving to arrange transport arrangements.

If your circumstances change and you require your child to attend school as you are a critical worker please email office@queenelizabeths.com and we will be in touch to advise which school your child will need to attend.

During the closure, schoolwork will continue to be uploaded to the Google Classroom for students to complete. Staff will be available to track and monitor completion of the work. It is extremely important for students to engage meaningfully with this work, which will consolidate and build on current knowledge and cover new content.

Please refer to https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus for guidance on self-isolation and the symptoms that you should look for.

We will continue to update on the School’s position when we have further information.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding in these unprecedented times.

We look forward to seeing you all again when we re-open.

Yours sincerely

Katie Boyes
