Dear Parents and Carers

I write to provide further guidance on the current situation within School. As explained in my letter from this morning the school will be closing to the majority of students from 3.15pm on Friday 20th March.

Whilst QE School currently does not have any confirmed cases of COVID-19, we do have several staff absent who are currently self-isolating as they are displaying symptoms of COVID-19 or they have underlying health conditions and are carrying out social distancing as advised by the government. This means that unfortunately, we will not have sufficient staff available to ensure adequate provision of learning and the safety of all of our students and will need to have a partial closure of the school for year 9 and 10 students on Friday 20th March. This means that students in years 9 and 10 should remain at home on this day. Only students in Years 11,12 or 13 should come into school, provided that they are not self isolating.

If you are a parent/carer of a Year 9 or 10 student and you work in the NHS, please email jday@queenelizabeths.com and we will do our best to accommodate them in school on Friday.

We will continue to update on the School’s position when we have further information. Thank you for your continued support and understanding in these unprecedented times.

Yours sincerely
