Services of Remembrance

On Remembrance Sunday, Students from QE were invited to par cipate in the Wimborne Service of Remembrance at The Minster. QE musicians (pictured above) performed “Largo” from Dvorak’s new World Symphony which was very well received by the congrega on. Our Senior Student Team were also outstanding ambassadors for the school as they did their readings during what was a moving and ng tribute. Many thanks to our Head Boy, Jack Williamson; Head Girl, Alic Hawker; Deputy Head Boys/Girls, Kieran Venner, Jack Stonell, Olivia Ba en and Rosie Hutchinson.

We were delighted to hold our own Service of Remembrance on Monday 13th November around our sculpture SIGN. We were supported by Blandford Army who started the service by marching out with our cadets. Mu- sicians then played The Lord’s My Shepherd, O God Our Help in Ages Past and Even de. The service was led by one of our Chaplains, Katrina Greetham and readings were received from our Head Boy, Jack Wili- amson, Head Girl, Alice Hawker and Deputy Head Girl, Rosie Hutchinson. Our House Captains laid wreaths on the sculpture and The Last Post was beau fully played by Morgan Lee. We were privileged to be joined by representa ves from the Old Winburnians and the service was an excellent tribute to those lost.
