V&A Visit

Year 12 & 13 Art, Photography, Graphics, Textile & Product Design visit to London

Mrs Darley

Art, Photography, Graphics, Textile and Product Design ‘A’ Level students had a fantastic trip to London on Thursday 23rd February. In order to provide students with suitable sources of inspiration for their coursework and exam projects we devised a trip enabling students to experience a wide choice of venues from the V&A Museum, Natural History Museum and Science Museum as well as the Saatchi Gallery. As ever the day was jam packed with so much to do, to be honest I could have stayed in the V&A all day!

The opportunity to see art and artefacts from first hand is such as fantastic opportunity that really supports the student’s portfolios and experiences. Many thanks to the staff (Mrs Farrar, Mrs Parsons & Mr Wood) who accompanied the students on this visit which enabled them to tailor their trip to their specific interests and courses.

During the day students were encouraged to sketch, take notes and photograph their experiences which have since been documented back in school. Inspiration from the day will be realised in the form of student outcomes.
