Girls Rugby

Our dedicated and committed U15 Girls Rugby team competed in the Dorset 7-a-side competition at Chapel Gate just before the end of term. They were placed in a strong group consisting of Purbeck, St Edwards and Poole High. Our first game was against Poole High who we knew would likely be our toughest opponents. The game was highly contested and although the girls were very competitive we were the eventual losers. This also saw us lose Abby to a suspected broken finger so she could not take part in any more of the tourna- ment.We went on to beat Purbeck and St Edwards which was a very significant step forward as the team also had some Year 9’s who were playing rugby for the first time. We finished second in our group overall and qualified for a semi-final against Highcliffe. We won this and would now play Poole High in the final. This was once again ahighly competitive match but Poole High ran out deserved winners and claimedthe trophy with QE finishing a fantastic and hard fought second place overall.
