Civic Service of Thanksgiving

On Sunday 7th May 2017 pupils from QE School were invited to perform at the Civic Service of Thanksgiving in the Minster Church. Performers had been invited by Councillor Sue Cook, Town Mayor of Wimborne Minster, herself after hearing an earlier performance in February.

The Queen Elizabeth's Trio, Jonathan Scouse (Piano) Samuel Josephs (Violin) and Eilisa Love (Flute), performed an arrangement of Salut D'Amour by Edward Elgar. This challenging piece of music with many musical directions to follow was performed beautifully with a real sense of style and control, gaining huge applause from the audience!

Samuel then proceeded to perform Chopin's Nocturne in C# Minor at the piano. This piece has many ornaments and quiet passages to get to grips with which Samuel handled with great competency. Again the audience of the Minster were amazed with the professionalism and quality of performance they had heard from pupils at the school.

Further, Major Katrina Greetham (Salvation Army) thanked all pupils and staff at QE for their continued efforts to fundraise and support charities in the local community.

Well done to all involved, a lovely service.
